On March 5, the All-Ukrainian Association of Cultural Heritage Protectors (VAOKS) and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) officially entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document was signed by Oleksandr Nikoryak, Chairman of VAOKS, and Oleksiy Dniprov, Rector of KNUCA.

The Memorandum aims to unite efforts in educational, scientific, and pedagogical fields, ensuring the effective use of both parties’ intellectual and material resources while enhancing their public prestige and authority.

Key Areas of Cooperation:

• Organization and implementation of joint educational, cultural, and community events.
• Exchange of educational, methodological, and scientific-technical materials, particularly regarding the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in education and heritage preservation.
• Joint scientific research, conferences, and seminars, including the formation of temporary research task forces.
• Engagement of student bodies in cultural, educational, and mass sports activities.
• Information exchange regarding scheduled scientific, academic, and cultural events.
• Publication of joint scientific, educational, and methodological materials.
• Organization of mutual internships, training programs, and professional development for academic and teaching staff.

“Cooperation with a leading specialized university is a vital step toward the systemic training of professionals in the restoration, preservation, and modernization of architectural heritage,” noted Oleksandr Nikoryak. “We are merging practical expertise with an academic base to breathe life back into Ukrainian cities.”

Strategic Partnership

The parties have agreed on a regular exchange of information, participation in joint initiatives, and an annual review of cooperation outcomes. All projects will be conducted in accordance with Ukrainian legislation, specifically the Laws “On Education” and “On Higher Education.”

VAOKS is confident that the partnership with KNUCA will serve as a powerful catalyst for advancing education in cultural heritage protection and involving the younger generation in the preservation of historical environments.
